Sweet Iron Full Cheek Medium Port

$205.00

The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue color. Sweet Iron will rust when it comes into contact with (air) humidity, the surface rust tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the saliva production. This will cause the horse to salivate more, which in turn will encourage a better acceptance of the bit. The process of rusting (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to a brownish-grey. This is the desired effect of the Sweet Iron bits. If a Sweet Iron bit is not used for a while, an orange-brown rust layer may form on the mouthpiece. Simply remove this by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.

Sweet Iron bits are suitable for all horses. Sweet Iron helps the horse to salivate more, which will encourage a better acceptance of the bit.

The Sweet Iron collection has the most variation in mouthpieces, each with its own specific effect.

The full cheek bit has two transverse bars on the jaw piece. This shape creates more pressure on the horse's cheeks. This makes a horse more manoeuvrable and a bit cannot be pulled through the mouth so easily. In addition, this bit is quiet and stable in the mouth. The gag bit is ideal for young horses due to the pressure distribution or spirited horses to prevent the bit from being pulled through the mouth. With the TRUST snaffle bit, the bars on the jawpiece are slightly bent outwards so that they cannot come into contact with the side of the horse's head. It is therefore important that you hang the bit in your mouth with the bars pointing outwards, so that they cannot cause wounds.
