An underlay bit is used in combination with a dressage bar, so there are two different bits in the horse's mouth at the same time. The rings of a snaffle bit are smaller so that there is enough space for the action of the dressage bar. The bar and snaffle combination is mainly used in higher dressage and is not suitable for an inexperienced rider.

The single-jointed bit has one hinge point, which puts less pressure on the tongue than with a double-jointed mouthpiece. A single jointed mouthpiece mainly acts on the layers, the side of the tongue and can also act on the palate. A single joint mouthpiece is considered a standard mouthpiece.

The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue color. Sweet Iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) moisture that tastes sweet and stimulates the horse's saliva production in a natural way. This will cause the horse to foam more, which ensures better acceptance of the bit. This rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to brown-grey.
